Portfolio: Portrait Busts: Admiral Lord Nelson
Admiral Lord Nelson

Nelson is considered to be the greatest hero in British naval history, an honor he earned by defeating Napoleon's fleet in the 1805 Battle of Trafalgar, the 200 year anniversary of which is October 21st, 2005. This commission was for two separate life size portraits. The first, a traditional bronze portrait bust is pictured along with the original clay artwork. The second portrait is a special lightweight casting in bonded bronze (bronze powder and a urethane resin binder). This was created to display with one of two authentic reproductions of Nelson’s uniform, one of which is at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, England. Pictured below is the uniform display here in the US.
