Horatio Nelson is considered to be the greatest hero in British naval history, an honor he earned by defeating Napoleon's fleet in the 1805 Battle of Trafalgar. This commission was for two life size portrait busts, a traditional bronze bust and a special lightweight casting in bonded bronze. The later is displayed with one of two authentic reproductions of Nelson’s uniform, one of which is at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, England. Shown here is the uniform display in the US.
