This is the clay artwork and the completed bronze portrait bust of Tony Cooper, who joined the RAFVR in 1938. Tony flew for the Royal Air Force throughout the Second World War, including June 6th, D-Day. One of the Spitfires Tony flew has been restored and is on display at the National D-Day museum in New Orleans Louisiana. He is depicted at the time the sculpture was created, at age 89.
